Meet Pepita, our latest addition to the classroom, crafted through a fruitful collaboration between Piiroinen and design agency Aivan.

Derived from the Spanish word for “nugget” or “seed”, Pepita perfectly encapsulates the essence of this school chair. Just like a seed holds the promise of growth, Pepita cultivates a culture of learning in classrooms! Pepita has been meticulously designed to foster an environment of tranquility, serenity, and productivity.

Beautiful Workspace for Everyone

According to the lead designer Saku Sysiö (Aivan), creating an aesthetically pleasing workspace is important for people of all ages, including children. Pepita embodies this ethos as a chair that exudes understated elegance and enduring style, with its balanced colors and refreshing design serving to alleviate the visual clutter of any space. In a tranquil classroom, children can better focus on learning new knowledge and skills together.

Ergonomics at the Forefront

School days are long, and children often have to sit still for extended periods. That’s why the ergonomics of student chairs are particularly important. Pepita is available in two seat heights and provides a comfortable seating experience. Its angled legs prevent tipping.

Ally of the Cleaner

Sysiö’s design endeavors were geared towards addressing diverse usage situations, notably the upkeep of tidy spaces. This is achieved by enabling children to conveniently hang their backpacks on the chair’s backrest throughout the day. Come day’s end, the chairs are lifted and placed on the tabletop, streamlining the cleaning process once the school day winds down.
