One of a kind, unique
The Helsinki Olympic Stadium is a building of significant national relevance.
For many, the pure functionalist architecture of the 1930s, combined with the external appearance of the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, symbolises the dawn of a new era for the young nation. The light, structures and materials, combined with usability and sensory experience constitute the premise of architecture.
The K2S and NRT consortium in cooperation with the Swedish White Architects and the Dutch Wessel de Jonge were responsible for the architectural design of the renovated Olympic Stadium.

One of the most significant project in our history
Delivering more than 36,000 seats
The product development, manufacturing and delivery of the seats, including installations, shows our ability to take responsibility for large and demanding projects.
The seats are made of wood composite, they offer excellent seating comfort and their design language fits into the streamlined architecture of the stadium.

Wood composite
The original wooden benches have been replaced with individual seats made from wood composite.
The seats forms a unified horizontal line at the stadium tribunes like the original benches. The wood composite material fulfills a high fireproof rating.
Story behind the seats
From a designer’s desk to installation
“The new seat at the Olympic Stadium is an environmentally friendly product made in Finland. Wood composite is made from by-products, waste pieces. With a small carbon footprint, the new seat represents the principles of sustainable development.
Comfort is also important: wood composite as a material feels warm compared to pure plastic. We are extremely proud of this project.”

Architecture
The Helsinki Olympic Stadium is considered to be the most beautiful arena in the world.
The design was made by Yrjö Lindegren and Toivo Jäntti, the winners of the architectural competition for the design of the Stadium. The Olympic Stadium is deemed to be the crown jewel of Finnish functionalism.
The renewal of the Stadium has been done by carefully combining skillful craftsmanship with modern technology in a sustainable manner.
